"B" is for Biscotti & Bread!

Even though Dale doesn't cook, he does bring home some great recipes that I just have to try!

Last week he tuned a piano at Michelle T's home & she had just taken these lovely, delicious treats out of the oven...& she offered him a taste...& the rest is history.

Michelle got the recipe for "Wonderful Almond Biscotti " from the recipezaar website, & since I couldn't find the site, here is the recipe:

"Wonderful Almond Biscotti"
1 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. bkg pwdr
3/4 c unblanched whole almonds
2 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter, melted
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 egg white, lightly beaten
1. Sift flour, bkg pwdr together & then add almonds.
2. In another bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract & grated orange rind together.
3. Stir into flour mixture until a soft sticky dough forms.
4. Transfer to a lightly floured surface & form into a smooth ball.
5. Divide dough in half & roll each into a 12-inch long log & transfer to a greased baking sheet.
6. Brush tops with beaten egg.
7. Bake for 20 minutes in a preheated, 350 degree oven.
8. Remove from oven, cool for 5 minutes. Then slice each log into 12-3/4" pieces.
9. Stand biscotti upright on baking sheet & return to oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
10. Cool...cookies can be stored in airtight container for 2 weeks.
Enjoy!
